Va’a Voyagers Conquering the Hawaiki Nui Va’a is a 4x half hour observational sports documentary series, that follows the journey of the Pineula Senior Master Men’s waka ama team, as they take on the infamous Hawaiki Nui Va’a.


The ultimate test of endurance, strength and spirit, the Hawaiki Nui Va’a is an international long distance, waka ama race, that takes place in Tahiti. It is a gruelling three-day race, spanning 129km of lagoon, open ocean and some of the most culturally significant sites in the Pacific - from Huahine to Raiatea, Tahaa, and Borabora. The team must battle the fierce elements and demanding trainings but will have their team mantra “our health is our wealth” and the knowledge of their ancestors guiding them every step of the way.
